RE: super tigre .60 g with 2 glow plug head??
Hi
The old dual plug Super Tigre's are rare these days. Its a very good, dependable engine. If you dont want it, I will buy it from you ! They run well and are very dependable when properly set up. Was the best engine you could get at the time. Newer engines are more powerful, but lack the quality and dependability of the old ST's in my opinion.

Depends on the engine and its condition. is the engine froze? Is the carb froze? Any chipped fins, or enlarged mounting lugs? You should also see a large V or G on the side of the engine, the engine size is usually stamped there also.

Kind of like selling a dirty car with McDonald's bags all over the floor and rainbow decals all over the rear window, who would give you anything for it? Presentation is everything, even when ebaying it.
IF this is your intent, you don't need to know the value if you let the bidding determine it for you.
I think the purpose on these old engines that have two plugs (a few other companies did it also, like Fox, OS, maybe Enya?) was before you had idle bar glow plugs available. These engines otherwise suffered an unreliable idle, so two plugs helped that I believe. I could be wrong, I was a little kid back then. Today it's obsolete technology. You might want to determine if the $5 needle valve is still there, and obviously some aftermarket muffler was used. If fuel was left in it, the carb throttle could be stuck. The more complete descriptions, the more interest you'll receive.
If you had a new engine, box, manual, muffler, you'd see $150-200. Not this way. There are a lot more collectible engines out there for that money. Maybe someone who invested $45 in Anderson's blue book could tell you more. http://www.andersonsbluebook.com/

Anything and everything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. For example when Mario Andretti, (Famous Race Car Driver) ran out of gas on the last lap before crossing the finish line, after the race he said he would have paid $100,000.00 for a gallon of gas. To me your engine is worth verr little $5.00 maybe, but I am not a collector. The EBay bidding process is probably your best bet.

well i know it's not worth 5 bucks..lol
i took it out of the plane and it is nearley in perfect condition with the exception of alittle fuel residue on the head..i'll have no problem getting 100+ for it..thanks for the info.

I do think you'll have lots of trouble getting $100 for it. It's just an old engine, and the newer ones are better. A old .60 2 stroke that's usable will bring $50-$75 right now. Just because it's old and different doesn't make it valuable. I used to work in a gun shop and had this conversation at least twice a week with customers who thought that there were collectors everywhere who would pay big bucks for their deer rifles because the manufacturer used a different style of sight that year or it was in an odd caliber. Now if you had one of the high end ignition engines that the S.A.M. guys are always looking for, then you'd have a valuable collectible. But as it is you have a basic .60 who's value is based on its usefulness alone.
