Default 3W Gas Engines

3W Gas Engines
Can anyone tell me how reliable these engines are? They are cheaper than DA and others but have more power. Other than a shorter warranty I can't see a reason not to purchase one for the extra power.

There is no reason not to buy one if that's what you want. They are very good engines. You may want to go into the gas engine forum and read up on them yourself, there are pages and pages of Q&A about them. I haven't seen anyone at the field using one in a long time, the DA and DLE are the king of the hill at the moment. I'm the only one I know that is using RCS and Brison engines at the moment so I'm sort of the odd man out. Go look them up, I liked the one I had.

I use them and like them. They are very reliable. You may not know, but 3w is one of the original, just made for airplane, gas engine manufactures. Been around a long time and know how to build engines. Like said above, others get all the hype, but few are better.

I have a 3W 157 in my 33% Waco and it has tons of power. I am using a Xoar 32x10 prop and it pulls with authority. Starts easily and runs smooth.

3W is German....

Conservative like Germans are...

Their product is good and will still be there when the others have faded.

You can't go wrong in chosing and using 3W products, IMHO. I just can't always afford them.

I have an old 3W50 sitting somewhere in the garage....I even forgot what sized prop to use on that sized engine - wow! Getting old isn't for the faint at heart
