#11 Xacto blade handle???
Does anyone know of a good handle that the #11 xacto blade doesn't fall out every time you pick it up? I have 3 different types of handles, an all aluminum with tighting part of the collet close to the blade and a plastic handled knife with the same locking system, the 3rd type uses the same split collet type with a draw bar that goes all the way thru the handle with a twist knob at the far end of the knife and its the worst for retaining the blade of all of them. Some one should make a handle that has a positive lock on the blade so it doesn't come out until you want it to!

X-Acto orginal handle. The original is still the best. I have 7-8 of these handles that I have collected over the last close to 40 years. They all hold the blade firmly in place with no problems at all.

My local hobby town usa had some nice xacto handles with their name engraved into the side and they work great. I was surpised to see they were only selling them for 99 cents each. They dont have them any more though.

I agree with the group. I've tried about every knife handle over the years and the original Xacto remains the best. But, make sure you have Xacto brand, not an Xacto clone. The collets are much better.

I USE A STRIP OLD DOUBLE EDGE RAZOR BLADE IN THE SLOT WITH THE EXACTO BLADE - JUST ENOUGH TO TIGHTEN WITH OUT ALLOWING THE NUT FROM BOTTOMING OUT. IF YOU HAVE SHIM STOCK - IT SHOULD WORK ALSO.
