looking for a 60 size low wing trainer ARF
Good evening. I am looking for a 60 size low wing trainer ARF. I am having trouble finding such a beast but am sure that they are out there. Anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks, Steve

Steve,
Look for a Calmato Sport. They have a 60 size. I fly my 46 size with an OS 55AX and it does fine. Don't be put off by the instructions stating, "Not recommended for aerobatics." I put mine through quite a bit without a problem. The only issue I have is that the covering is easily loosened by the oil residue. I have quite a few hours on mine now and it is held together with clear tape. Looks rough, but it does fine. I have been told that some have been successful avoiding the problem by spraying with a light coat of clear before first use. Overall the plane has been a good value.
Have fun!

The popular GP Escapade was just released in a 60 size:

If you want a really stable plane, that looks as good as it flies I would go with the Hanger 9 Pulse. I use it as an everyday flyer and it always comes thru with flying colors so to speak. I have mine powered with an Os 75 AX, it has unlimited vertical and moves it along very well.
I use mine as a trainer anytime someone drops by the field and wants to fly..

If you can find a Tiger 60, you've found an excellent low wing. Flies like a trainer and also flies like a pattern trainer.
It's best features are how calm landings are and how hard it is to stall. Matter of fact, it's worst feature is that it's so hard to stall that snap rolls are very hard to do unless you trim and trim and trim. And then it's still safe and secure on landing and won't snap every time.

I second the Escapade or the Pulse. Hopefully the tiger will be back at some point too.
I've also seen a couple Skyshark Fantasy's and I'm impressed:

I don't think the Tiger 60 is available as an ARF anymore. The 4*60 and the Pulse 60 are both excellent. The Pulse has great colors compared to the one-color 4* and the Pulse comes with a cowl.
I have owned two 4*60s, built from kits and flown the Pulse 40. Either plane will be great.

X2 for the Pulse 60. That was my second plane. Flew it for a year and a half and actually flew the covering off of it. Recovered and flew some more. Loved that plane. I've since moved on to gassers but I had a blast with the Pulse. Good looks, very forgiving and lands like a dream. I might even bring it out of retirement as a back-up or trainer one day.
