While that piece doesn't jump to mind as to where it goes, you might want to look through my LT-40 build thread and see if you can determine where that part goes.

Link to SIG's Manuals for the LT-40 http://sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmart.ex...FV4.html?E+Sig
Actually - SIG's website is awful to try to navigate. There's a dark red bar with a series of tabs - one is for manuals. Mess around - hopefully you can find it.
I'm browsing my scanned manual - you're looking for (smallest measurements first) a 1/4 x 3/4 x 2 1/2 block?
Update - there is no balsa block close to those dimensions listed in the LT-40's parts list.

Just helping beberly540 find the mystery part and the proper CG.
As you stated above, "SIG's website is awful to try to navigate".
They make great kits, though.

RE: SIG Kadet LT-40
Ok so after checking these plans out, they are for a full assemble kit. I have an ARF, which i figured out a couple things but not this mysterious block.. do you have ARF plans?

RE: SIG Kadet LT-40
Yes, any full assembly kit is known as kit simply, while a pre-fabricated kit is known as ARF (almost ready to fly), ARC (almost ready to cover) or RTF (ready to fly).
Sorry, I understood yours was a kit.
Here are the instructions for the ARF:
