Default Repost.. Landing gear and strut construction

As stated this is a repost of mine from the kit building thread. I did not get any answers over there so i figured i would try the q&a routine

Well after finally finishing up some other planes to have ready for the flying season I am getting back to my building of the 1/4 scale BUSA Pup. I have all of the stick building actually done and now it is time to put together the landing gear and all the struts. I am just wanting to know what you guys use for wraping wire. I need to wrap the joints first then solder it in place and I was thinking of maybe just useing what I call safety wire which I used alot when working in the motorcycle industry.

SIG sells a packaged coil of copper wire for this purpose.

Depends on how big it is. For smaller stuff, I strip power cord wire, copper. For bigger, I'll use telephone wire. Wrap, twist, flux, and heat. Works like a champ.

I never saw your post in kit? I have a spool of copper wire I was given from a friend that installs alarms. I just strip the covering and use that. This spool of wire has been with me sense 79 so it goes a long way.
