Bearings for old 45 supertigre
I have a Supertigre .45 engine. Made in Italy. The caseing looks like the new ones. I want to replace the bearings in it. Are they the same ones that Tower hobbies sells for the new .45? This engine is a screamer. The bearings in it have very little slop But new bearings would be a plus. Why is it that the made in Italy engines are so much better then the ones made in China?
Thanks

I've always used Boca Bearings to replace any bearings in my engines. The price is usually as good or better than the OEM parts, and the service is first rate. Check them out.

I found Boca just the opposite of what Ken does. I used them a couple of times then went to bearings.com with better fitting bearings and the correct size. They also include the cam bearings and the prices are still better. I no longer use Boca at all.

I switched from Boca to rc-bearings.com. Much better deal, great service.
Best thing to do is measure. Calipers are a wonderful tool if you don't have one already - you will use it in your RC hobbies as well as all sorts of other projects. I got one at engineering school pretty cheap, and also have a digital metric/empirical set for ~$30.
I was surprised at how common bearing sizes can be. I needed one for the back of one of my motors, OEM replacement was expensive, took out the calipers and found oodles of options, and chose a better bearing for the application.

Hi!
The rear bearing is a 28x15x7mm...same as every other .40-46 engine (except Rossi). See to to get a C4 bearing (Dave shadel has the best which is swiss WIB bearings)
