Top Flite Cessna 182 Skylane GP/EP ARF 81
Ihave completed the TFCessna 182 Skylane GP/EP 81" ARFand am unhappy with the front steering assembly mechanism.
This design (see picture) is the traditional steering arm mounted via brass fitting which does not allow for a very strong nor robust design; this typical design has been around for decades and in my opinion is completely unsatisfactory. Heaven forbid you end up off the pavement and into some dirt which often compromises the brass fitting (if you didn't strip it during assembly in the first place).
Ihave heard people mention Kurts(?), Sierra and Robart (sp?) mechanisms butmy searches have only come up with the Sierradesign for the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 - I believe it's a differentscale than the Top Flite...? (see picture)
So my question is does anyone have any suggestions about another design or manufacturer that addresses this very issue - and ideally for this specific plane? I'dlike to still utilize thewheel-pant for the front wheel if at all possible.
Thanks in advance!

I cannot thank you enough! Awesome!!!
The only downside is I'm not sure how the wheel-pant will fit on this, but I will give it a go. Maybe if the strut is painted white it will help aesthetically.

Everything and more you want to know about this plane. A lot of discussion about nose wheels, etc.
