Default Connecting retract air line tips/help

Connecting my first set of air retracts and having some difficulty connecting the air lines and fittings/connectors. Man those suckers are tight, as I guess they must be to prevent leaks. I didnt want to use any tools. Considered some lubricant (wd40/light oil) but wasnt sure the line/t-fittings could endure the mineral oil. So, does anyone have any tips to make connecting the lines together easier? Thanks in advance

You're right, they are tight, and small! Dip the end of the air line in hot water for a few seconds to soften it. Hot water from the tap should be hot enough.

I rub the line through my hair and slide it on.
