Default muffler question

just put a super tiger 40 on my ultra sport and the hose from the tank to the muffler is to short, can i drill a new hole on top of the muffler, tap it and put the nozzle there and just put the screw back in the muffler where the nozzle was at?

Default RE: muffler question

Why not just replace the tubing with a longer one? Or add a short length to the existing one coupling them together with a short 1/8" brass tube?

Just lengthen the hose a couple of inches like Bruce mentioned.

I suggest you just lengthen the tube as others have said. If you notice where your nipple is tapped into the muffler there is a shoulder to make the metal thicker at that point. If you drill a hole elsewhere and try to tap it you may not have enough thickness to make it work.

Is it pressed against the inside of the cowl or the engine? If so, keep a close eye on it for wear or tearing at the nipple and contact points. If it's so tight it's kinked - change something.
