Silly prop question.
A lot has been said about prop sizes around here. Well here is my question.
I am finishing up a TF Contender. I have a .53 Rossi for power. And I have some 11.5X7 props to use with this combo. What should I expect from a 11.5X7? Is the plane going to be fast? Slow? Inbetween? What do you think?

Props
As a general rule, smaller diameter, higher pitch props will give you more speed. Larger diameter, lower pitch props will give more thrust, or "pull" The funfly guys use the latter for hovering, as they don't need speed. I'm not familiar with the Rossi 50, but I suspect that your prop might result in medium to fairly high speeds. Just guessing there, though....

Silly prop question.
yeah, what Jetmex said.... (oh...hi Jaime... )
If you want to climb fast, land slow and top speed is not a concern go for a large diameter, low pitch prop.
Part of the fun is experimenting if you don't mind spending a few bucks on propellors..
I was instructing on a Kadet today that had an ASP 53 with a 12-4 prop...flew just fine, but tomorrow we are going to try a 12-6........
