Hi!
Why takes it sooooo long to get in here???
Sometimes it takes minutes, sometimes it doesn't work at all! This has been going on now for a week or more.

My experience is that RCU regularly has technical issues. I have troubles from various computers at home, work, and when I was at school. Was not able to post/access for the past 30min or so, but seems to be fast now.

The amateurs that made the business decision to port RCU from their old servers to a new configuration were / are clueless about the effects to the RCU community. Think that they are burying their heads in the sand hoping that a bolt of lightening will resolve the performance issues.

Just sign me - been there, avoided that ...

More like greed. Someone bought RCU which was hosted (running on) a one set of servers (computers). They didn't buy the servers - just the forum software and data and then ported (moved) it to a different set of servers. Different hardware. Different operating system. Different technical personnel. Kinda like buying a partially built kit without plans, without instructions, just a box full of wood. A quote from Forrest Gump might work here - something about a box of chocolates ...

Did ya know that "server error 500"means - yea, we were able to post your reply but we have no clue how to display it back to you ....

Its good to know its not just me. This is the slowest forum I use. Sometimes I can't get on at all.

I like RCU a whole lot. But when it's slow I become impatient and log off. My time is valuable and I'm simply not going to wait for the site to get up to speed. I hope certain individuals are taking note.[]

Pretty sure that they dropped RCU on a set of servers that has a limit of concurrent service requests that is much lower than the previous site. That means we get the damn clock just hanging in a queue waiting for whatever service we've requested. And, insult to injury, if we wait too long - doink server error - pftzzzzzz. What I find funny (ironic not haha) is that in many cases when you're doing a quick reply it accepts the reply but fails when it tries to re-display the thread with your reply. So, we end up adding the reply a 2nd time. Argggg .....

The moderators are all aware of the problems. They need to start over or reset the server. But someone or a few is holding out from making that decision to do so.

There's a fine line between revenue and performance. Maybe they thought they could increase the margin. When advertisers begin to drop things will change. I for one put up with it unless it gets real bad which it has.

Last job - equipment rental for a year in support of online traffic was $750 million. I understand.

I hate to admit it, but I have been going over to another website more recently, I love the people over here, but it also seems like there has not been as much posting or traffic as their used to be. Things change, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad.

I have saved my sanity, by adopting the attitude that: If log on works very shortly; great, I am good to go.

If not; log off; go do something else; come back later. Like I did this morning.

Saves a lot of frustration.
