Default New to Lipo Batteries. Question about Batteries.

It appears that my 3.7 150 MAh (.5Wh) 12C Lithium Polymer Battery is dead. While looking for a new one, I noticed that I could buy a E-flite 150mAh 1S 3.7V 25C LiPo Battery for $3.99 http://www.gravesrc.com/E_flite_150m...flb1501s25.htm My hobby shop wants $15.00 for mine. Regardless if these prices are accurate or not. I don't understand what the difference is between a 12 C and a 25 C?

I'm also looking for a park flyer that I could fly in an elementary gym over the winter. Due to the Cost of the new battery, I don't think I want to buy a new battery for my Parkzone Ultra Micro F4U Corsair foamy, which I believe is probably too fast for an Elementary school gym. The Gym is not a full size High School gym.

The difference is in how many amps it can put out without puffing (or worse). The higher the C rating the faster it can discharge w/o damage.

Keeping in mind that some so called "c ratings" are optimisitic to the point of folly.

Horizon (the distributer) lists it for 3.99 http://www.horizonhobby.com/webapp/w...pe=productgrid

so if someone is charging 15 bucks they are jacking you.

Here you can find a good explanation about C rate: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/a...charge_methods
And here you can find a good battery for 1.69$ or 0.91$ with BuddyPrice Discounts: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...mpatible_.html
You can look for park flyer and indoor here: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ly_Indoor.html

Cheap ones are on Ebay as well. Buy about 10 of them for $15 and have yourself a blast.

UM T-28 if you want something to fly inside and think the Corsair is too fast. I love mine.  You can get the larger 1S packs that the mCPX use instead for these planes, you just need the adapter, and you can get 15 minutes of flight time out of it without worrying about balance or too much weight.  I have both planes and use the mCPX packs in both.
