Default How to center ailerons on a fun fly airplane?

Hi All,

This is the first wing shape of this type I have come across and I am uncertain where to position the ailerons for center.
I ran a string from the center of the leading edge to the center of the trailing edge and used this line to position the aileron.
Is this right way for first flight?

Thanks for your time.....Brian

Ditto!
Careful with that plane as it can bite you!   Make sure you dial down the throws (low rates) and fly it a bit nose heavy until you get a few flights on it.

Lol! My Tango awaits a new fuse - got a bit low on a spin recovery. You have the ailerons set correctly. When on high rates, keep it slow. It gets weird during inverted flat spins.

Ed Moorman is on here, do a search as he is a great sport/fun-fly guru. He did a review on the Tango.

The other way if you don't have a straight edge on the wing tip is to stretch a rubber band around the end of the wing. Then make the gap equall on top and bottom. just make sure the rubber band is not pulling the aile up or down.

Thanks everyone for your input. With the ailerons set I am close to flying it soon. I have the CG at the forward position and I have the low rates dialed in.
I plan on taking it easy until I get used to it.

Thanks again...Brian

My Tango didn't like to fly very stable until I made it a little nose heavy and then it flew great. I am running a 46 evolution with a tuned muffler and swinging a 12 1/4 x 3 3/4 prop. It flys great but make sure you throttle back on any high speed descent. I have fluttered the ailerons on mine twice. I am very lucky I still have it as it pulled one aileron rod off and stripped the servo on the other side. It is a great plane to fly, you will enjoy it.

One last thing, Brian. It's a great airplane, but VERY quirky.

I let the club pattern guru fly it. He was set up for a landing, put a little rudder in for a slip, and the plane banked so much he hollered, "Whoa!". It caught him a bit unawares. Not nasty but, as Lara Flynn Boyle said in MIB 2, 'Feisty!"
