I recently purchased an old os 60 open rocker four stroke engine but I have one question.
The cam cover on the rear of my engine is plastic.
I've been looking around and all the other engines have a steel cover over the cam...
So I take it I might be missing something or is that the way they came???
I will upload pictures tomorrow.

Picture? There is a black medallion/ cap on the back is that what you are talking about? You have to remember that except for some low production 4 strokes it was the first commercial 4 stroke engine.

????????? I have never had one so don't really know but if you go into the glow engine forum then into OS factory support you can ask Bax all about it and probably get a short history.

There is an aluminum cap that goes over that. Just for looks.

looks like that black cap is removable and an aluminum piece should pop on.
