It's called a dual coupler and there are a couple types. I have one in a pattern plane like your showing and I have the ball bearing dual coupler in an Extra I assembled for a student in his ARF. Wish I could remember what the Chinese instructions called it but it was really funny!! Central Hobbies stocks the ball bearing types.

I would also call it as noted by GB a dual coupler. It is becoming more common on some arfs these days primarily the lite 3D types and mostly for two peice elevator although sometimes it can be handy for duel pushrod or rudder/tailwheel.

The common method is a slight bend where the two rods come together for an inch or so and two wheel collors used to lock them together. This provides good adjustablity and its easy to do. It is my preferred method sometimes when doing separate pushrods for a tailwheel.

Here is one of my warbirds that uses dual pushrods for both the rudder and the elevator with 2/56 rod ends in carbon fibre pushrods.

Just added another picture of a typical arf (Magic Extra) that I have not flown in recent years but it is a nice ship and uses the two dual rod coupled with wheel collor technique. It has always been reliable and just one effective method.

I have to agree, copper wire and silver solder. I have discovered over the years that the more screw fittings that you have, the better the chance for a screw to come loose. Good Luck, Dave

Hi tazzzz I think you have it confussed it was Carrera Mike that found the Graupner product which in nice maybe a bit heavy. As for me I don,t use anthing except a bit or 2/56 rod end wire and a couple of large wheel collors.

Here is shot of another installation I have and in this case its for the tailwheel of a Moskito:

Ya you right but but those gram things sure do got a way of adding up

But betcha the "mearly' is better applied to the cost thing since I,ve hundreds of old collors laying around. And doing it my way cost nothing. Actually its not my way as more and more arfs are using it and its been a flawless method for me.

John

Thanks for all the help gents!
Here's what i did. BTW, the 1st reason I did this was i didnt like the factory /oem elevator configuration of my Zero aircraft. It was causing uneven elevator throws. Rolling the aircraft a little on full elevators.

I am adding one to the list of brass wire and real silver solder.
