Default Glow engine exhaust systems

I am interested to find out if anyone has tried installing an exhaust pipe on a glow engine. I imagine that the back pressure could cause the engine to run hot. Can this problem be relieved by removing the baffel in the muffler? I'm considering buying a cheap engine to run this experiment on. Any opinions?

Not sure what you mean by an exhaust pipe. A header? Atuned pipe? Then the answer is yes. Your engine needs a little back pressure.
