Default Removing old water slide decals

I want to remove the waterslide decals from the monocoat on a large biplane, and replace them with vinyl decals. The water slide decals are puckering and lifting at the edges. What's the best and safest way to remove the old decals completely? Thanks; Ernie P.

We can safely wipe monocote with acetone to remove smeared cyanoacrylate glue without damaging the covering. I'd try soap and water first, then acetone if the soap doesn't work.
