Default Rotate carb on DLE 20 gas engine?

Does any one know if the carb on the DLE 20 engine can be rotated so the hi/lo needles are up instead of under the engine when it is mounted with spark plug at top. Will be difficult to adjust them after installing the engine in my model, which has a closed in bottom.Thanks.

I did not get a response but mounted the engine as it was and made a hatch in the bottom of fuse so I can adjust the carb as needed for break in. This leaves the throttle and choke connections on top for easy access. Unusual arrangement, I have always used Zenoah engines with Walbro carbs and never ran into this problem before, but they don't make a beam mount this small to my knowledge.

Well I popped the Carb off mine to look, doesn't seam to be any porting on the reed block to back plate connection,, No reason why it can't be flipped.

good luck

Yes you can, I did it to mine! While you have it off I would highly recommend sanding the reed block to ensure it is flat and re-sealing it. Just google dle20 reed block and you should see how it's done.

Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it but I put a hatch under the engine so I can remove it and adjust the mixture as needed. I am putting it in a old design108 inch Kloud King free flight that was kitted by BMJ Models and framed up by a friend of mine about 1987. I did a little work on it and now am in process of covering it. Mr Bob Gray of BMJ models is still active in RC in Layton Utah and I have talked to him a couple of times about this and some other BMJ models I have. He flew his with a 120 4cycle. Very nice man. Again I thank all for your help.
