Default removing balsa wrinkles on foam sheeted wing

Hi All,

Have a set of balsa sheeted wings and for some reason (Moisture) it has developed some small wrinkles in the balsa sheets.

Any suggestions on how to flatten them out again. Was going to run my covering iron over them but not sure if that would work.

Thanks

Prboz

The structure is comprised. About the only way to fix would be to inject epoxy in the affected area and vacuum bag. Problem with that is you dont know if the original bond will fail in a different area. Ifit were me I would scrap and build new wings.

You can get a glue syringe and inject glue under the sheeting where it is popped up. You will need to drill some small holes in the bubble, inject some glue, and I use old magazines for weights, weight it down until the glue drys. Good Luck, Dave
