The pot, you mean? If the pot is dirty, some isopropyl alcohol on a Q tip will clean it right up. But the pot may be worn, in which case it will have to be replaced.

Is your 6ex a 72 band radio and do you have metal to metal contact at the engines throttle arm? In other words a metal clevis or S bend on a metal throttle arm?

If you're using a servo extension did you isolate that as well? Try swapping channel at the receiver and see if the problem follows.
If it were me I'd send the transmitter in for service or get a bigger computer transmitter

What is the pod??? That makes no sense. Now to answer your question, if a new radio will work with your Futaba 617 receivers the answer based on the fact that you have not indicated the exact brand and model of new radio can only be for now, It just depends.

I believe he is asking about the stick "pot" (the potentiometer). If it's jumpy, then it's likely worn or dirty. In almost all cases, it should be replaced. Usually, though, if one of the pots is bad, then all of them are likely near the end of their useful life, and should be replaced, too.

For transmitters compatible with the R617FS receiver, you'll need to get one of the FASST transmitters: 7C, 10C, 14SG, or 18MZ.
