Default FPV 49 flying wing

Hello all. I have recently seen a few videos of the FPV49 and want to build one. I have all the deport and other things required however i have a few questions i hope you can answer.

Is the following motor suitable for the FPV49 as i have one lying around doing nothing.
Turnigy / Tornado / Overlander
Thumper 4240 Brushless motor.
540 watt motor
900 kv
suitable for 9 - 21 Nimh cells or 3 - 7 Lipoly
Prop size from 11 x 5

I have two 2200 batteries and i am unsure how i wire them together to use in the plane and how i then charge them?

Do i need a BEC.......... i have never used one and am unsure as to what they do.

Thank you very much in advance
