The instruction manual for the Top Flite Elder 40 says that the prototype required 12 oz. of lead in the nose to balance. You gotta do what you gotta do.

That's what I'm going to have to do..the three servos in back weigh a total of 5 ounces..once I move those forward it will help a lot!

Gonna move the servos from the tail to the front..that should help a lot.. I hope...

The instructions give a measurement in inches for the balance point..not sure how to figure the 33%..

Very easy on a constant cord wing. Measure the cord and multiply by .33

Good plan to move the servos and use carbon rods. Might not quite get you there; if not, you can make a battery box in front of the firewall with a hole for the connector to the rx. Then if you still need just a little more, hopefully a heavy hub will get you there. I hate adding much weight too. The design has a short tail and a small stab, so the CG probably doesn't have much leeway.
