Default 120 Saito Glow to Petrol

Hi,
Intending to change a 120 Saito Glow to Petrol & wondering re the compression ratio.Is it necessary & if so what is the best comp ratio to change to for petrol spark ignition.

It would be less expensive to just convert to CDI and continue to use glow. You get more power and longer run times. Go to the Saito thread, tons of info there, and a real CDI fanatic roams there.

I also have a couple of saito 120 I picked up cheap and want to get into gas as a way to save money. I went looking in RCU and did not find a Saito thread. I found the gas but did not see anything I thought would help.
if you could tell me/us how to find it I would appreciate it..

Hi,
What I have been told is that the Compression ratio has to be dropped from 14 to 1 down to 8.5 to 9 to 1 by shimming under the barrel. When I have the Comp ratio correct I will try an OS 4 stroke glow plug .If that does not work I will get an ignition unit(excell).
