Engine choice help for 1/4 world models air tractor/pawnee
Project: World Models 1/4 scale Pawnee/Air Tractor
Flying style: Scale sound and performance, Gas Engine, Ability to do loops and rolls, No hovering
Plane Specs: Calls for a 50 cc gas engine, Wings span 108, Fly weight about 20 pounds, Cowl depth from firewall to prop washer is 207mm
GOAL : 4 Stroke sound, Scale Flight
Plane is due to arrive Friday. I need to order an engine quickly. Of course the easy route for engine choice is a DA or DLE 55R. RCUNIVERSE has a World Models Pawnee build that utilized a DLE 55. The comments from the builder/pilot were "more than enough power".
I am looking for reasonable options for a gas 4 stroke. The 38cc NGF 4 stroke has my attention. Im debating if the power would be enough but watching videos of 15 pound planes it appears to have plenty. The options of the Moki 50cc and some of the others is very expensive around $1000. So if anyone has suggestions for the 4 stroke gas option please let me know. Otherwise I will pull the trigger and place a 2 stroke gas fDLE 55 on her.
Thanks,
Teddy
