Default Exhaust. Extension

I wish they would make longer muffler extensions. Does anyone know of any? The standard length aren't worth a darn as far as I'm concerned,,,everything still gets soaked no matter what position I put them in. If none are available, what material is best to use without it melting? Drives me crazy!
Thx. TAZZZZ

It it is a 2 st then high temp silicone tube works. I have used this on a number of models taking the tube down to the lower under carriage. You do lose a little top end power.

That's what I suggest ,is the silicone exhaust tube that fits on the end of the muffler tip ,it does help!

Also ,if its the muffler that rotates ,you can turn it down to the furthace point with a tube!...

You could add on an aluminum extension to the silicone one, or even go to a header and long aluminum tube or tuned pipe depending on sound restrictions at your field.

Don't forget if you are worried about power loss, that you can drill out the hole in the outlet stinger hole a bit, and/or remove the baffle to make up for the longer tube. I normally do that anyway if I am getting a strong stable run throughout the whole tank.

Any extension you add to the exhaust should have a larger ID than the ID of the end of the muffler/pipe. Short extensions usually don't affect power much, but getting much over a few inches will affect the powerband of the engine. If the muffler has enough volume, you could get a slight tuned effect from a longer extension. This would show its benefit with larger props most likely. Another side effect of long exhaust extensions can increase tank pressure slightly, so your midrange could go a little rich on you that you may not be able to tune out with the needles.
