What are the effects of oversized landing gear (struts) on a warbird
I am building a giant scale spitfire, and realized the struts are a little to tall.
Is this ok?
How will this effect the airframe and taxiing?

It screw up your initial angle of attack for takeoff, so most likely well eat up extra runway. The other thing is the extra weight. Any chance to mount them deeper into the wing?

My Feedback: (10)
One thing i see is it will put your wheels farther out into the wing and because of the shape of the wing and the angle of the wheels it may make you need to run smaller tires than ideal.. Spits tend to want to nose over.. so the higher struts will put the thrust vector of the motor a bit higher and may want to make it nose over easier on takeoff when the tail comes up.. with the tail on the ground the cg will be a bit farther aft with the higher gear and will make it have more weight on the tailwheel, require more speed to get the tail up etc.... but all spits fly and handle a bit different depending on the kit and weight..
