Default Engine stand offs

I am wanting to mount a FT 300 OS engine in a 50 cc plane. I am going to use aluminum stand offs, my question is how long is to long for the stand offs. Mind will be roughly 5". As you know there will be three per side. Any reply's will be appreciated

OS twins do not vibrate much at all, however 5" standoffs, particularly if that does not include the length of the OS Mount, is a very long distance. It would be more prudent to build out an engine box and dump the stand-offs.

I agree it's not really a vibration issue but the engine's torque to consider also,,, stand offs that long surely are going to allow the motor to twist,, that twisting will cause wear at the firewall contact points.

good luck

I suggest that you build/extend your engine box in lieu of using 5" stand-offs, for the reason stated by Scale Only.
