Is the OS 95V ringed 4 stroke .95 Engine a good option for a piper j3 cub .60 plane?

It will be more than enough.

I flew my GReat Planes Cub 60 with a worn out .91 Surpass, mostly at 1/2 throttle.

The Surpass .91 is discontinued at the moment.

Do you think that the diference in the displacement is a problem or not at all?

Those are the servos that I used.

My point on the 91 Surpass was that my far less powerful engine was too much power for the GP Cub 60. I feel that there may be better, less powerful choices, than the OS 95 engine that you mentioned.

It won't be a problem at all. You'll have more power then you need, which will be handy if you ever want to fly off water or do STOL takeoffs. It's also handy to have some reserve in the throttle stick when you realize it's windier than you thought.

I have to say the OS .95V is a work of art, and is superior to the earlier 91's in my opinion... and it's just a great looking engine as well. The valve covers and overall look of that engine would look great on a Cub. It is a very powerful engine, and would be in the top tier of power-plants for this particular Cub... no doubt in my mind...but the ease of operation, smoothness, and reliability are well worth it.

I'm a big fan of the 95's for any plane in this size range that is a potential four-stroke candidate... and this Cub falls square within that. Good luck with it.. let us know how it goes.

If I were outfitting a .60 size Cub, it would come down to a choice between this engine or one of the newer .60/10cc gassers on the market. Both give you lots of torque for turning bigger props, which offers a lot of benefit to a Cub flyer.
