Default asp 4 cycle break in

Hi,
I have a new in the box, old ASP Fs65Ar . there are no instructions for break in or valve adj.

I probably need the valve setting more than break in , but would appreciate any help.

I decided to check the valve clearance before running, if it is new and I think it is, the valves should be set now. But I am getting .010 or .254mm and that seems like a lot. I will have to go and look at my Saito books and see what they are.

checked the saito .65 valve settings and they should be .o3mm to .1 mm. I set the ASP to .1 and it ran great. I put one tank thru (small tank ) and will do another . That should do the bench run in. after the break in I think about .08mm will be what I shot for , for valve clearance.

ran very well, looks like a good engine.

Your valve clearance sounds OK to me. Most all $C engines I know use the clearances you suggested. If you can get a pretty reliable idle I would suggest putting it in a plane and flying it varying the throttle setting and flying lots of up and down lines, loops, cuban eights, etc for a couple, three tanks at a reasonable rich setting. That should get you 75% of your break in completed.
