Default What size prop for a u can do 46?

Does anyone know what is a good size prop to use on a u can do 46 with a hopped up os 46 fx engine. Right now I have a 12x6...is that going to be good enough?

How "Hopped up" is that 46? a 12x6 sounds a little big. Maybe a 12x4 or 11x4 - 11x6

Ported .010?? How did you do that?

You want to run a APC 11.5-4 on your UCD.

The plane is not made to fly fast, too fast and you rip the tail off.

I didn't do the porting. The guy I bought it from did it. All I know is I only paid $50 for it and it is still running after a month so I guess it was a pretty good deal

Since you want more thrust then speed I would recommend an APC 12.25X3.75 prop for you UC3D...

I had 1 problem with this prop and the OS 46FX. It took a lot longer to take-off. This will get you into trouble. I want to get a 11x5.5 but haven't found it yet. Good Luck.
Oh yeah, until I get a cowl, I have it mounted right side up. I already have a pitts muffler for when I put it 90*.

What RPM were you getting with the 12.25X3.75 prop on you 46FX? This surprises me as a lower pitch prop is considered to be a "climb" prop and should shorten take off runs. Higher pitch props are considered "cruise" props and provide more speed, and typically lengthen take off runs...

well...I am running a 11X6 and it seems to work pretty well. I can take off at half to 3/4 throttle in about 40 feet. It also comes in nice for landings....just floats above the runway
