Default Where to buy Nylon Wing Bolts?

Where can you get nylon bolts over 2 in? I'm looking for some wing bolts for a CAP 232 that are 3 1/2 in (1/4 x 20). Does Lowes have them?

I have bought them at Ace Hardware. I am pretty sure that Lowe's has them also.

If you can't find them locally, Microfasteners has them.

There's usually at least one hardware store in town that has them.

Look in the plumbing section of any hardware store or home center.
The are the same bolts that hold toilet seats on.
Cheap and readily available! Fix the toilet seat too!

I'd give you a handful if you lived here......I don't use them. I use #8 sheet metal screws, with the 1/4" hex head. Drill a 1/8" hole and they cut their own sharp threads. Install with a nut driver which doesn't slip and mess up your wing. Do they break off easily in a crash? No, but if you hit the wing hard enough to break off the nylon bolts, you usually tear things up pretty badly anyway.

I think I got started on this after I built a Joe Bridi Dirty Birdy over 20 years ago, and Joe had the wing held down with 6-32 bolts and blind nuts, if I remember correctly. I tweaked the idea from there to the SM screws. Now my friends do the same thing. Works for us!

I went to Lowe's last night and they have a good selection of nylon bolts along with a lot of other hardware that could be used on models.
