Sterling Kits
I would like to know if anyone (individual or firm) obtained the rights to the line of Sterling kits we all enjoyed back in the good ole days. A few of my friends and I would like to build several models of the Mambo Special. Would copyright law be violated if copies of the kit plans were to be made for my friends?

RE: Sterling Kits
This has been covered at length, I believe in Vintage and Antique. A search for Sterling should uncover it. Estes bought the rights to all except the Chris Craft line, and discontinued just about everything.

RE: Sterling Kits
Copyright would only cover the name "Sterling" and any accompanying terms used in their models. King Cobra, P-63 and the actual design would be available as the first two are in the public domain and the any patent (if there was one) is probably expired or unenforcable.
