Is it possible to put an electronic speed control on my boat? What I mean, will water hurt it? Or...is there any way to water proof it? Thanks in advanced

I saw an article recently where the electronics of an R/C boat were sealed up inside a latex ballon. The wires came out of the opening which was bound tight with string or wire so as to make it virtually water proof.

Latex balloon ? > read Condom. Float plane fliers have been using them for years.
