Default Monokote over ABS plastic

I'm building a plane with wing tips in ABS plastic. Now I'm wondering if it is possible to cover also these ABS tips with monokote without melting them. I will avoid painting the tips because i think that it will not look so good as i want it.
Any ideas?

Monokote sticks just fine to ABS. Make sure that you wipe it down first with isopropyl alchohol to remove
any mold release agents. Monokote's adhesive activates at about 200 degrees or so, ABS is fine well above that.
I recovered my H9 Cherokee that has an ABS top fuselage and was wondering the same thing.
But It worked just fine. p.s. use a sock or mask parts not to be covered so you won't scratch it

I have only tried it once. Made a heck of a mess. Make sure you don't use too much heat, and expect bubbles and a lot of seams. Personally, I would make the tips out of balsa blocks and paint the cowel.

I covered an entire ABS cowl on an RC Nobler in Solarfilm, which is similar to Monokote. I used quite high heat and a lot of heating and stretching and several pieces to get around the curves. Results are pretty good and obviously the cowl is a perfect match to the rest of the fuz.

I wouldn't use Trim solvent to apply the covering to ABS plastic.......Don't ask how I know!

Ultracote is easier to apply to plastic, it doesn't put out gas like Moneykote does.

I am planning to cover my DC-3 in chrome instead of Aluminum Monokote, since chrome looks a lot more like a real aluminum skinned plane (my opinion). However, I was unable to find a chrome spray paint from Monokote. Does anyone know any Chrome paint, which is likely to match the Monokote Chrome covering?

Thanks,
Serdar
