Gluing canopy to plane
What is the best type of glue for installing the canopr to the plane? Will the glue stick to the ultracote or must it be removed. I would like to eliminate the typical glue spots that show on plastics. Thank you, Al

Canopy glue, of course.
RC 56 or some variant. Goes on white and dries clear. Cleans up with water till cured. Works well.
No need to remove well-secured UltraCote

I use RC-56, the original formula works best, not that new thick crap. I glue it right to the covering, although most don't like doing that. I just got a new brand that is supposed to be as good as RC-56 and dry as clear and good, but I don't remember who makes it. I think it is a pacer product, the same guys that make ZAP. Looks good though. I will be testing it in a few weeks on my edge.

I use rc56. What Idid with my funtana is put a line of it all the way around the edge of the canopy and then set it on the plane. I the pushed it down and wiped up any squeeze out. Then even before it dried, i took 1/4" white trim tape and went all the way around the canopy twice, using the trim tape on the first pass halfway on the canopy, halfway on the covering, to help hold the canopy on, then the second pass i overlapped the first pass and only stuck it on the canopy. The result is clean neat canopy line that is easily removed, but dosnt fall off when you dont want it too.

well bond and goop maybe too harsh. i dont really care for the look of screws in the side of my canopys. the extra work is worth it. do a search for canopy glue on tower hobbies and you will see it. thats wher i got it. i think it was only $5 of you have nough to do a lot of canopies. well worth the extra effort for a clean look.

It's actually more work to screw it down
Actually, my 25% Suk26 features an opening canopy that opens to the right just like the real one Weight's the same ifn ot less then using 2-56 bolts and T-nuts.
