Default Engine power

Does anyone know where I cand find a comprehensive list of the power of various model engines - discontinued as well as current ones.

I have about 15 models (way too many!) and am trying to calculate some statistics such as wing loading, bhp per pound of model weight etc. The engines are mainly but not all OS and some are up to 20 years old. One of my favorite planes, a Wot 4 (may not be familiar to you Statesiders), is powered by an OS 60 FSR I bought second hand in 1984 -has that done some work!

Thanks

Finding info on engines that old might be tough. A good way to get the exact amount of static thrust (which is what you really need for power-to-weight ratios, not bhp) is to use a good digital fish scale and attach it to each plane. Start it up and take a reading at full throttle, preferably on a hard surface. You'll end up with an accurate list of power-to-weight for all of your planes.

There are guys that write engine columns for the major magazines (including the AMA mag), and most of them also test engines regularly. I'm sure a couple of them have kept records and could help. I think Clarence Lee has probably done tests on nearly every RC engine ever made.
