Default HITEC 81 or 85 mg servos

hey everyone. I have been out of flying for a while and now need to purchase some servos for my new planes... I had heard that Hitec had problems with the 81 size servos when they first came out.. has this been fixed ?? I have had good success with the 85 mg's in my flying wings before.. I know that the 85's can handle a little more load than the 81's ...anyone had good/bad experiences with the 81's?

I've used a lot of HS-81's... never had a problem with them (that wasn't caused by smashing the airplane into the dirt.)

I've got 81s in my Zagi which, suffice it to say, has been beat to hell over the years I'd say that passes it.

Never had an issue with mine but what kind of load to you want to put them under and what type/size of plane? I had a buddy who would put them in his .15 sized combat plane aileron and everytime his wings touched someone during combat (accidentally) the gears would strip but the application was wrong for the servo. (most of use a standard servo).

I like the 85's with nylon gears. Haven't ever used 81's.

I use the 81's in my Bird of Time with no problems.
