Horizontal Stab Repair
Problem...I have insalled a horizontal stab, and it is glued to never come out, made of balsa/foam. After all said and done, I found out that I'm 1/4" off on alignment Laterally ( measuring from nose to stab tips). This 1/4" would only need to move 1/8" to one direction to make it correct.>>So I'm looking for a solution on how to repair, Or should I. Was planning on using this plane in some Pattern Flying. This is my first plane of this type "foam core" that is. Please help out on the affects of this problem and/or how to Fix. Thnx PlanecrazyII In case your wondering this is a CA Models "WIDEBODY 60". Later

RE: Horizontal Stab Repair
Unless you're a very "seasoned" pattern flier, you probably won't even notice, provided everything else is straight and true. What type of glue was used, and is it balsa to balsa? If it's epoxy, you can heat up a thin bladed butter knife and slowly melt the epoxy loose. If it's CA, you'll be cutting. ( bye the way, that joint should be epoxied) Good luck either way you go!

RE: Horizontal Stab Repair
Have you considered sanding it into alignment? An 1/8 won't take much... one leading edge... square both tips... squareup hinge line... make trailing edge match leading edges... maybe touch-up the airfoil slightly if you want. About 10-20 minutes with a T-Bar and an alignment string. Good luck.
