RE: Liberty Sport
2nd Chance Hobbies had an old Sig kit for sale in their shop a while back. Don't know if it's still there or not.
Call the owner, Jim Rice, @ 210/945-8221.
Good luck.

If you haven't been able to find one yet, I was in Hamilton Hobbies, Hamilton, Ohio today. They have a kit of the Skybolt on their shelf. I don't have their phone number right now, but you can check sigmfg.com or any other manufacturer's website and get it from their dealers list.

RE: Liberty Sport
Mitaccio,
For what it's worth, I have a Sig Liberty Sport that I acquired partially built. The fuselage is about 80% compete and the wings and tail feathers are unbuilt. After taking inventory, the kit is complete with all ABS parts, hardware, decals, aluminum motor mounts and pushrods. All the wood seems to be in good shape as well. The plans are in good shape as is the instruction book and scale documentation drawings. The reason I'd be willing to part with it are I started on another project (TF P-47) and I already have a biplane. Let me know if you're interested and we'll settle on a price. Email me at [email protected]

Right now I'm in the process of building one. I've got an ongoing construction thread right now here: Liberty Sport Kit Build with tons of photos and tips on this particular kit.
I hope to finish this with a lot of scale details, but the photos in the kit are not that clear. Would you perhaps have access to some detailed photos? I'd be willing to compensate you if you could obtain some copies for me. What is the current status of you grandfather's plane now? I presume it is still flying as I see that it won a 3rd place award at the 2003 Golden West EEA event. "3RD PLACE - CHAMPION LIBERTY SPORT "A" N185L Ralph A. Belden - Garonerville, NV"

Bob's Aircraft Documentation should have a photo pak of the Liberty Sport available. I got one from him several years ago and there is a lot of good detail pics of everything. Hope this helps.

RE: Liberty Sport
finally found message you sent. kinda dumb I guess but was first <pm> for me, had not had one before now I know to check inbox.
About the kit...it is all in excellent condition wood, plans and decals all appear to be OK! I will try to post pics of box, since you asked about condition of box and the decals. All wood appears as new. This is still in box, nothing has been removed except for decals to take pic. As I said I really had never thought about selling it but I have so many kits, some of which I know I will never have time to build and I hate the thought of two wings, guess I'm getting lazy in my old age
will also send you a pm
happy flying
