Balsarite and Foam
Will Balsarite eat foam? I have a foam wing covered with balsa skin and was going to try out Balsarite, but I don't want to use the product if it will eat the foam.
thanks,

If you are going to use MonoKote or UltraCote I wouldn't use the Balsarite. It's simply not needed and you will get a better finish without it.

RE: Balsarite and Foam
I going to use Monokote, but I am covering wings that are actually covered with Obechi. The film coverings seem to have a problem sticking to this type of wood.

RE: Balsarite and Foam
I use Balsa rite all the time with film coverings. I use the balsa rite that is made for them. It comes in a white green stripped can. Do not put it one heavy. Use very little so it does not soak through the wood. If you soak the wood it can melt the foam under the sheeting. I have used on 1/16 balsa sheeted foam wings. If you use out side when it is hot it will evaporate fast and not soak in as much.
