RE: Need some help with getting hinges out
One approach that I used, which may not be so great...but works.. I did this today to repair an aerelon.
I cut the hinges with hobby knife, releasing the aerelon. I think used the hobby knife to "carve out the hinges on both sides, and used needle-nosed plyers to grip the hinges and work them out. Dont know any other way...seems to work fine.

RE: Need some help with getting hinges out
Hi,
When faced with a similar problem (albeit with CA hinges) I just trimmed the hinges level with the surface with a hobby knife. I then recovered and cut new hinge slots adjacent to the old and installed new hinges. I can't see why this wouldn't work with most hinge types.
Cheers,
Colin

Thats what im gonna do, ive decided.
The hinges are the pinned type but i can get the knife and cut majority away from inside the balsa.
Ill end up covering it over and rehinging it.
Thanks fellas for the help.

Yeah im not sure, ill probably just cut them out and cover them over.
I have two A/C that i would like to recover a GB Cub as well as a Astro Hog.
Both are lookg a bit old at the moment. Ive striped back the fabric covering on the Cub (pain the bum trying to get it all off)
Lots of sanding has been done, unfortunately lots more to go.
There is a bit of crash damage (not my fault) which means i have to replace the firewall as well as cleaing/rebuilding my ASP .65 four stroke (needing help on that). Im gonna recover in a scheme of a full size Cub that i flew in New Zealand.
