Fuel tank location with inverted OS .91 Fx
Dear All,
I have some doubts about where to locate the fuel tank in my P51 Mustang which has an inverted OS .91 Fx engine.I have attached two pictures of possibilities. As far as ı know the top of the tank should be 5-10 mm. above the level of the needle-valve.The fire wall hole is forcing me to change the level of tank. When ı lift the tank than the distance between valve line and top of tank is increasing.I would like to know my limits. What are the tricky points when an inverted motor is considered.?
Thank you very much for the co-operation,
Fatih.

RE: Fuel tank location with inverted OS .91 Fx
With an inverted engine installation, I like to keep the centre line of the tank in line with the needle valve. I wouldn't worry too much about the hole in the firewall, keep the tank at the level you want and run the two fuel lines through the hole.
