RE: what rubbers to use??
I had a senior Kadet and even though I had to pull on them a bit to loosen them up to fit around the wing dowels, I still used the common #64 rubber bands. I always like to put an extra two to four bands on because it makes me feel secure about the wings not comming off.

Used both the "Office Depot" 64's and the LHS 64's. Much prefer the LHS even though they are more $$$$. Try stretching one then the other. THe cheapo ones turn white as soon as you stretch it to length (indicating it's been severely stressed). The LHS one's don't discolour.
My money is on the hobby store brand.

I have learned to keep the Rubber "bands", that is, haha In Powder. Get a coffe can and some johnson and johnson powder, mix the bands with it. Keeps the bands in good condition for flying, they dont strectch out.

the main thing though is to make sure the rubbers dont break make sure you make every effort to protect em!

About this thread - When someone tosses up a hanging curveball, I just gotta swing for the fence!!
We must ensure our rubbers remain intact so as to practice safe flying
Question: Do built up wings require the use of "ribbed" rubbers?
Sorry, just couldn't help m'self!!!
Cheers!

I've resisted for weeks! I don't use rubbers, but Trojans work if absolutely necessary.

Speaking of rubbers. On another thread, they were mentioning that they should only be used once and thrown out. Also there was mention that they can be reused if they are placed in baby powder or corn starch. I have always just reused my rubbers until they appear to be worn out or too slimy.
I need to find larger rubbers also, so I'll check the Sig site. Do the larger rubbers come in colors also?[sm=lol.gif]
Seriously though... Why dont they make rubbers out of silicone, so that they would last longer?

Well Dang![X(]
I just tried finding larger rubbers at SIG and they don't have any larger than 64.

I did a search for rubber and all that came up was rubber lube and rubber winders (ouch).
So I searched for rubber bands and didn't find rubbers large enough.

RE: what rubbers to use??
It seems that almost two months ago I bought the last box of #67's at the LHS and they haven't restocked. That is part of my decision to convert my LT-40 wing to bolt-on. The epoxy on the second to last step is drying now.
