Default Balancing a warbird

I just finished a Corsair From Giantscale planes
I balanced the plane Wheels down and not upside down and is super heavy on the tail.
Then I read the addendum page that says that needs to be upsidedown for the balancing.
The wheels need to be retracted or not?

Any of your Corsairs is Tail Heavy????

Default Balancing a warbird

I usually balance all of my planes with retracts with wheels up.

Depending on the type of retracts you have installed your Cg might be bang on with them down and Tail Heavy when there up. I'm sure you know a Tail Heavy plane is hard to fly. If the gear follows a straight line out to the tip it would not matter up or down !!!
nice plane, I have a friend constructing one this winter

Default Balancing a warbird

ALL WARBIRDS WITH ROTATING GEAR MUST BE BALANCED WITH GEAR RETRACTED AND THE MODEL INVERTED. WITH A PERFECT BALANCE GEAR RETRACTED, WHEN EXTENDING THE GEAR, THE BIRD WILL BE NOSE HEAVY. BE READY FOR IT. WHEN RETRACTING THE GEAR IN FLIGHT THE BIRD WILL BE TRIMMED FOR LEVEL FLIGHT. WHEN COMING IN TO LAND, EXTEND THE GEAR ON YOUR DOWN WIND LEG. BE PREPAIRED FOR A NOSE HEAVY TRIM ADJUSTMENT. THIS IS WHEN YOU START TO DEPLOY A LITTLE FLAP IF SO DESIRED.

Default Corsair

Hey Moto, I'm looking pretty hard at that GS Corsair. What do you think of it? Was it easy to build? Are you adding flaps? What's your opinion of the quality?
I've heard both good and bad views of Giant Scale's quality control.
Just like everything else in r/c, it depends on who your talking to I guess.

Inverted, wheels retracted, that is the way to do it.
