What engine for GP.40 Cub??
I just purchased a Great Planes .40 Cub. I cannot decide what engine to put on it. I know I want a four-stroke but don't know what size or brand. Kit calls for the OS .70. What about the new Saito .90 twin? Do you think a .90 is too much power? I will eventually put the Cub on floats so maybe I will need a little extra power to get off of the water. What are your thoughts?

Best value for bucks is the Thunder Tiger 54 4c.
Got two and one is on my H9 80" Cub. You don't need any bigger.
It will fly faster than any Cub should fly and enough torque to get
out of any stall.

I have a Saito .65 in my 81" Cub and it's not overpowered with a 13 x 6 MA. - Besides the 4-stroker sounds very good chugging along at half throttle. The Saito .90 twin should have about the same power and some extra thrust could be handy lifting off water. A smaller engine might have flown it, but it's what I had available and worked out great.

onewinglow,
No clipped wings for me. Planning on leaving the wing to full span. Should provide for nice slow flying and some extra lift off of the water.
