Default Tailwheels

With the tiller type tailwheels such as the Tatone and Ohio Superstar, is it neccessary to use springs in the contol wire hook up? Just thought I'd ask. jollyroger

the springs make it less sensitive. you should set them up so you can turn the tailwheel by hand with out turning the rudder. that way a hard landing or a hole in the runway will not rip the gears out of your servo or cause the plane to dart around.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that's what I thought. I makes sense to add some shock absorption to the steering linkage. jollyroger
