Default How do I remove the wooden spar out of a broken wing?

My wing dihedral brace broke in half and I have one half of it whole but the other half is stuck in the wing from when I glued it in when it was built. I'd like to get it out whole somehow because I need to make a new spar and I need some pattern for the Dihedral angle. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

It's a tough nut to crack......hmmm, lemme see. Well, try using a heat gun then yank on the wood to see if it comes out...if not, a dremmel works fine. Another method...remove the covering, cut away the part where the spar is glued and redo the whole thing.

U can always order a new wing from the manufacturer. [:-]

Don't take it out, make a splint for it.

Add a piece of the same wood the spar is made of to the inside of the broken spar.

Then, sandwich both spars between two layers of good quality 1/8" plywood.

Make the whole repair at least 2 - 2 1/2 ribs long.

I meant to say that the dihedral brace was broken. I don't know if that would be any different than the spar.

Ah Ha! That's very different.

Basically, there is no easy way. But a dremel tool would be a huge help

I was thinking about using a drill to eat it all away but maybe there's a better way.
