painting question?
am currently preping my wood for painting and noticed that the primer recommends that i use sanding sealer first. my question is what is sanding sealer? tks mike

Sanding sealer is clear paint with talc in it. It's just a filler that can be brushed on. In our realm, sanding sealer usually means dope with talc added. You can buy it that way or add your own. Most guys who add their own add baby powder, but you can buy industrial talc pretty cheap from places that sell composite materials.
What is the base you are painting over? Bare wood or is there some type of covering?
