How many different fuel types?
How many of us have one or more different types of fuels for the engines that we run?
What are you applications of your fuel for your engines?
Engine type = Fuel type?

RE: How many different fuel types?
Satio 91/72 = Coolpower 30% Heli
OS 91FX = Coolpower 15%
MDS .78 = Same as above (probably should only be using 5%)
Magnum 120 = YS 20/20 (only 1/4 of a tank just to test. Used engine but after reading the manual I need to get another type)
Moki 1.80 = none yet but will have to buy some FAI

RE: How many different fuel types?
I use two:
15% (Mixed Locally at the LHS) - OS46FX, Saito 72, OS91 Surpass, OS61FX
Gas/Oil Mix - Zenoah G-26
Never felt the need to add more types of fuel just so I have to carry them to the field. The 15% works well in all my glow engines, and of course need the gas/oil mix for the gasser.

RE: How many different fuel types?
Hi,
I use a home mixed brew of 20% Coolpowerblue, 10% Nitro and 70% ethanol. I switched to this many mix years ago after reading an article on the anticorrosive powers of Coolpower and the fact that it doesn't gum up like castor. One of the engineer scribes to a local mag (sort of a croc hunter Clarence Lee) uses this mix in all his engine reviews and it meets the warranty requirements of all model glo motors imported into Australia.
Since using this mix I have never had to degum an engine, unfreeze a carby or do anything other than wipe the oil residue off the model. I currently use this mix in the following two and fourstroke motors OS 108, FSR40, LA40, ST75, ST90, Saito 72, Saito 100, Fox 35, Enya 35 and Rossi 60. If I mount the engine inverted I increase the nitro content to 15%.
I know castor protects better at very high temps but as I'm not into pylon or lean runs this isn't an issue for me but the castor gumming certainly is.
Cheers,
Colin

RE: How many different fuel types?
I carry 2 types of fuel.
I like to run 10% nitro but it is darn expensive here so I only use it in my acrobatic planes.
I use 5% in my trainer to save a little.

RE: How many different fuel types?
I use 15% Mach7 in everything but the gas engines. The Saito 180 and the YS120 run well on it, but are down a little from the 25% fuel. For the difference in price I can handle that.

YS 91 an 110-Power Master YS20/20
Saito 91 Cool power 30%Heli
OS140RX-Power Master 15/16
TT GP42 Wildcat 10% Castor Synthetic Mix
Moki 135-Wildcat 5% Castor Synthetic Mix
Everything else Omega 15% Castor Synthetic Mix
Always have to keep track of the amount of fuel and the type i am bringing with me along with the amount i have stored in the garage and perhaps the hardest of all is making sure i do not keep half full jugs around to long to go bad. Maybe i should go electric.
